A study of the apparent murder of William Morgan of Batavia, New York in 1826, whose disappearance sparked a powerful anti-Masonic movement. The author, Samuel D. Greene, was well known in anti-Masonic circles. Cloth lightly rubbed and and with some discolouration to the front edge of the boards. Minor chafing at spine ends, page-edges browned, owner's name on first blank page. A few minor pen notes on title-page and facing blank, and to a very few text pages. Pages a bit browned at margins with a crease and short ragged tear to one upper corner. Still a solid and generally clean VG copy. Scarce. Item #31626
