The classic account by Pierre Gabriel Édouard Bonvalot (1853-1933), of his travels through the Caucusus, Persia, Afghanistan and Turkestan, into what is modern-day Pakistan. Light rubbing and wear to corners, boards lightly chafed at fore-edge, discreet stamp of American Musuem of Natural History on verso of title page of Vol. I, no other markings, text bright and unmarked.
