New York: David McKay Company, ND [ 1920 ]. First US edition. Hardcover. Small Octavo. 62pp. Original maroon cloth with gilt title and author to front cover, b/w illustrations. The first American edition published in conjunction with the UK first published the same year by W. Foulsham & Co. of London. It has a cancel title page, and the final leaf (presumably advertisements) has been excised, so it would seem that this first US edition was bound up from sheets of the British edition (a common practice as it was far cheaper to ship existing sheets over from the UK and insert new title-page, than to the do a whole new printing of the volume in the US). The book itself is an unusual work by 'Sepharial' (Dr Walter Gorn Old, 1864-1929) the eminent English Theosophist, who remains well known for his works on astrology and numerology. Head of spine and corners lightly bruised and rubbed, faint glue darkening to outer margins of pastedowns, title page browned, otherwise a tidy, clean and unmarked better than VG copy. Quite scarce.
