This copy also INSCRIBED on the front endpaper by the author "with best wishes always, Serena". Serena [ aka Mrs. George W. Plummer, Mrs. Gladys E.S. DeWitow ] was the wife of S.R.I.A. [ Societas Rosicruciana in America ] co-founder, George W. Plummer until his death in 1944, after which she married his S.R.I.A. successor - Stanislaus De Witow. She ultimately assumed leadership of the organization herself upon De Witow's death. The work comprises excerpts from her "lettergrams" - "monthly instructive and informative letters" on a wide variety of subjects of interest to the S.R.I.A., which she send out to associated members and interested friends over a thirty-year period.
