A comic novel based on a purportedly true tale of phoney occultism and fraud . The (obviously) pseudonymous list of characters includes some memorable names, not least of which Octavius Raphael, Escrow Levy, Reverend Wicker, The Great P.J. and Hypathia, the Pythoness! Boards lightly rubbed with a few light marks from handling, pages lightly browned, small crease and closed tear to fore-edge of one rear blank - otherwise a solid, clean VG copy (no dust jacket).
