An Original Telegram Sent by Harris to Crowley, with a nine word manuscript annotation in Crowley's hand in the lower margin.

NP, ND [1944]. An original telegram 5 1/4" x 8" on buff Post Office stationery, sent by Frieda Harris to Crowley on July 4, 1944. The telegram is addressed to "Crowley Bell Inn Ashton Clinton Near Aylesbury" (that is at The Bell Inn, Ashton Clinton, Buckinghamshire) and reads "Missing Among Pictures Emperor Hierophant Prince Wands Princess Wands Cups For Disks 6 ACW [ACE ?] Swords Where Are They + Harris" Written below in Crowley's handwriting is "Idiot! I've seen no originals for years." The telegram obviously refers to missing original art work for the Crowley / Harris Thoth Tarot deck, and is testament to the often fractious relationship that existed between the two. The date stamp on the telegram is illegible, but in his diary entry for July 4, 1944, Crowley notes receiving a "Crazy wire from F.H. “Missing pictures”— I haven’t seen them for over 2 years!" Obviously this very telegram. The following day he wrote that the mail brought "No money, nothing but annoying drivel from Frieda ..." and that "F.H. phoned later re. her missing pictures." Like all our material the authenticity of this item is 100% guaranteed, and it comes with a certificate of authenticity.Telegram a little frayed at edges and somewhat darkened in places, but still VG+ condition.
