A history of Freemasonry up to the end of the French Revolution by historical essayist Jean François Bournand (1853 - 1911). While much of the volume is devoted to France, a substantial amount also examines other European countries. Ex-library copy with just a few markings: bookplate on front pastedown, blind-stamp on title page and a number of pages at rear including wrappers, ink stamp on dedication pages, a few hand written numerals on early pages. Otherwise - boards a little worn overall, all edges and extremities well chafed, a few short tears at upper spine, page edges and margins darkened, pages toned with a little light chipping to fore-edges, text unmarked.
