A paper presented by Walter Leslie Wilmshurst as a lecture in 1905 to the London Spiritualist' Alliance, and simultaneously published in The Light, and The Annals of Psychical Research. It was apparently so well received that requests for additional copies resulted in this - its first separate publication - a few years later. Walter Leslie Wilmshurst, (1867-1929) was one of the foremost Masonic thinkers and authors of his period, and who although not a spiritualist, took an interest in the methodology of psychical research. From the collection of Dr. M. H. Coleman, with his blind-stamped personal seal on the front free endpaper. Covers a bit darkened, lightly rubbed and a few faint marks, pages toned but clean and unmarked. Overall a tight, VG+ copy. Scarce. Item #62125
