The scarce first English language edition of this 6th century Christian extracanonical work translated from a Ge'ez (Ethiopic) manuscript. Malan, a clergyman, linguist and orientalist of considerable note, believed that the work had originally been written in Arabic, probably between the 5th and 9th centuries CE. Light bruising and chafing to corners and spine ends, pages edges darkened and pages lightly toned but clean and unmarked, a few roughly opened pages and fore-edge tears (no text loss). Overall a lovely tight VG+ copy (no dust jacket). Item #62562
