The third edition of this anthology of Gnostic texts together with Mead's explanations. Mead, a Cambridge-educated classicist and long term member of the Theosophical Society, presents Gnosticism in its philosophical and theological forms as relating to proto-Christianity, Judaism and other mystery religions of the Middle East. Top edge darkened and dust, very light rubbing to edges and points, a few light bumps to edges and corners, pages toned, a few creased corners - but all is tight, bright and unmarked - VG+ copy in a near VG example of the scarce dust jacket.
