A series of lectures on science, the spirit and Quakerism delivered in 1929 prior to the annual meeting of the assembly of "Friends' Yearly Meeting" in London. The name "Swarthmore" was chosen in reference to the home of Margaret Fox, a founder of the Religious Society of Friends known popularly as the "mother of Quakerism". Very light rubbing to covers, upper edge of front board slightly sun faded, spine ends lightly bruised, page edges darkened and pages a bit toned, many uncut (unopened) pages - thus appears never read, no markings. Overall a tight, clean VG+ copy (no dust jacket). Item #63746
