Hardcovers, 11 Volumes, small Quartos (10" x 7"), white decorated cloth, with gilt rules on boards and gilt titles etc. on spine in facsimile of the bindings of the deluxe issue of the First Edition (Vol. III No. I. Blue decorated cloth), and gilt titles etc. on spine, over 4400 pages, numerous color and black and white illustrations. Edition limited to 750 sets. A complete set of this new edition of the ten numbers which make up the first series (or 'volume') of The Equinox, along with the 1992 limited edition (1000 copies) reprint of Vol. III No. I (coloquially known as 'The Blue Equinox'). Volume I Nos. I - X were originally published biannually between 1909 & 1913 and Vol III No. I in 1919 (there was no Volume II as such). Crowley was the editor and main author of The Equinox, which contained a variety of poetry, fiction, and reviews - generally with esoteric themes - alongside a number of articles of occult instruction. This edition includes a specially commisioned Introduction by Israel Regardie. ). PLEASE READ THE CONDITION DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY. Unfortunately the set has not been stored well. All volumes show some pale yellowing around the bottom quarter of the front cover, and the bottom of the spine: it is most noticeable on Vol. II, III, VIII, XI & X. In addition, Vols. II, III & V have brown spotting to the spine (individual photographs of each of the volumes are provided). There is a small closed tear on the front pastedown of Vol. IV, but this does not affect its solidity. The top edges are very lightly foxed, all edges a little dusty, and the bottom edges of the boards are a little rubbed and darkened. Internally the volumes are tight, clean and appear unread. Vol. III No. I ("The Blue Equinox") has a few light scratches to the covers, and has evidently had a slight damp exposure: this has left a little yellowing to the very bottom of the inside front cover and an extremely faint, yellow damp mark through the extreme bottom of the text block. This is visible, but not strongly so - it probably wouldn't show in photographs. Like the rest of the set it is otherwise tight, clean and probably unread.
