An off-print from the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society - thus eccentrically paginated: 121- 148pp. [ 26pp ]. Original beige stapled wrappers lettered in black on upper cover, b&w illustrations. An essay regarding talismans brought from the Maldive Islands which were believed to be traced "to the influence of the Cabala, a theosophical work embodying the Gnostic traditions of past ages. The ideas contained in them are chiefly to be bound in the 'Sepher Yetzirah', or 'Book of Formation'. " With the stamp of Quatuor Coronati Lodge (the well-known London Masonic Lodge devoted to Masonic research) on the upper wrapper (no other markings). Wrappers darkened, a bit discoloured and well worn - partially detached. Edges a bit chafed and creased, pages toned but unmarked. Overall a complete, clean Good copy. Scarce. Item #64406
