A version in modern English, of the 1592 work "The History of the Damnable Life and Deserved Death of Doctor John Faustus", the first English book (drawn from a German publication) recounting the story of Doctor Faustus and his pact with the spirit Mephistopheles. Included is the text of the1594 edition of the additional "Second Report of Faustus".
