Westcott's study of the Kabbalah. The book was first published in a larger format in 1890, Westcott then revised and expanded it considerably, and published this second enlarged edition as the ninth volume of the "Collectanea Hermetica" series of which he was the editor, in 1902. W. Wynn Westcott (1848 – 1925) was of course one of the founders of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Supreme Magus of the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA), and Master of Quatuor Coronati Lodge (the well-known London Masonic Lodge devoted to Masonic research). Cloth a bit rubbed, spine ends and corners lightly bruised and chafed, smalll dark mark at lower spine, largish abrasion and residue on front pastedown (presumably from the removal of bookplate or label), owner's name and numeral penned on title page and contents page. Pages are lightly toned with scattered light browning and foxing and a very small amount of pencil underlines and checkmarks. Still a solid better-than-VG copy (no dust jacket). Item #64899
