NP, ND. Reprint. Softcover. Octavo. xxvi+ 156pp. Black plastic spiral backstrip, flexible textured covers with black lettering on upper cover. Tables & hexagrams. A cheaply produced but most uncommon reprint of the 1955 Yorke/Germer edition of Crowley's 1909 Kabalistic masterwork. This edition - presumably a piracy - is completely anonymous, having no date or other publishing information. It does have a Shambala Booksellers/Publishers label on the back cover, but they may simply have sold, rather than produced the work. Although undated it is almost certainly from the 1970s or 1980s. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. The label can easily be removed without affecting the page, although it would be a shame not to preserve this record of the book's provenance. Covers well rubbed with a few light marks, page edges thumbed and pages toned, owner's name & notes on first leaf (title page) and on final blank, a very few underlines to text - less than a dozen pages, Shambala Bookshop sticker on rear cover. Despite some wear - a solidly bound and serviceable Good + copy of this extremely unusual edition. Item #65005
