Color frontis, 25 half-tone illustrations loosely inserted. According to Harper only 300 copies printed. The first edition of William Wallace's study of Spare's early work, and its influences. The publication of the book was another important step in the 'rediscovery' of Spare by a new generation which began in the 1970's and gathered momentum in the decades thereafter. Spine slightly faded (as common), light rubbing and darkening to wrappers, otherwise a tight clean VG+ copy. Item #66393
