The Book of the Law [technically called Liber AL vel Legis sub Figura CCXX as delivered by XCIII=418 to DCLXVI].

New York: Samuel Weiser, 1976. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Small octavo (6 7/16 x 4.7/8 inches) (ii) 50 + (68) pp (+viii blanks). Original bright red textured wrappers with with "THE BOOK / OF THE LAW" lettered in gilt across the front cover, and "THE BOOK OF THE LAW" similarly lettered down the spine. The scarce first printing (1976) of the Samuel Weiser "little red book" edition of "The Book of the Law" - the edition that introduced a generation to "Liber AL" and which has since been reprinted innumerable times. The introduction and text have been photo-offset from the 1938 English edition, but incorporate corrections made by the O.T.O. especially for this publication. The title page and adjacent page are exactly as per the 1938 edition, except that the price has been replaced with "SAMUEL WEISER / New York". The introduction, the text of "The Book of the Law ," and the "Tunis Comment" are all drawn from the 1938 edition, although the advertisements are omitted and instead replaced with a facsimile of the original manuscript (Liber XXXI). The faintest in shelf wear, very light bump to lower corner, else a tight, bright VG+ copy. NB this is a 44 year old glued paperback, and as such will need to be handled carefully if it is to stay intact. Not surprisingly it is genuinely scarce in this edition. Item #67064
