Item #67154 Crowley in Cefalu, the Lost Masterwork. Edmund. Edited and TATE, Valerio Montinari, Aleister Crowley: related works.

Crowley in Cefalu, the Lost Masterwork.

New York: The Momo Press, 2014. POD. Softcover. Tall octavo. xxvi +306pp. From the publisher: "Author, Edmund Tate, a 33-year-old Britisher, visited the town of Cefalù on the north coast of Sicily in 2012 to research the life and times of Aleister Crowley. During his research, Tate became convinced he was Crowley, and tragically committed suicide in Cefalù in 2013. Tate left behind a set of remarkable notes on Crowley and his doctrine. By turns troubling and profound, the notes have been collected and edited for publication by Dr. Valerio Montinari." Presumably the whole thing is a work of fiction - the author seems to go out of his way to offend, and it might be described as quasi-pornographic philosophizing with what most agree is an unconvincing Crowleyan overlay. The work ends with a picture of a disembodied hand giving the reader "the finger" which is perhaps appropriate. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Print on demand type production values. A hint of light shelf-wear - but overall a tight, clean near Fine copy. Item #67154
