Item #67204 Crowley on Christ. Aleister. Edited and CROWLEY, Francis King.

Crowley on Christ.

London: C. W. Daniel Ltd., 1974. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Octavo. 232pp. Red cloth with gilt title, etc. to spine. A fascinating study of Christianity by Crowley. The text was originally published in mimeographed form by Karl Germer in 1953 under the title "The Gospel According to St. Bernard Shaw," in an edition that was almost certainly less than 200 copies. This later edition includes an Introduction by Francis King, and is itself increasingly difficult to find. At the rear of the book is the text of the Crowleyan sex magick ritual, "De Arte Magica" [Liber CDXIV]. This had presumably inadvertently been omitted from "The Secret Rituals of the O.T.O." which was released by the same editor and publisher in the preceding year, and was therefore added as an appendix to this publication, even though it has no actual relevance to "Crowley on Christ." Just a hint of shelf wear, very light bruising to spine ends and upper corners. Helios bookshop label on front blank - still a fresh and unmarked VG+ copy in VG+ dust jacket. (Dust jacket shows very modest shelf-wear, rear panel lightly creased, not price clipped. Now protected by removable mylar sleeve). Item #67204
