Item #67952 Art and the Occult. Occult Art, Paul WALDO-SCHWARTZ.

Art and the Occult.

London: Allen & Unwin, 1977. First UK Edition. Hardcover. Small quarto. viii + 168pp. Brown textured papered boards gilt-lettered on spine. B/w illustrations. Bibliography. Concentrates mainly on aspects of the occult in art by "well-known" artists: from Goya through Blake, and Van Gogh to Arp and Dali, but includes an interesting - and at the time ground-breaking chapter, entitled: "The Magical Self" which is largely focused on Aleister Crowley. Corners bumped, boards a little splayed (would probably flatten out if tightly shelved or placed under heavy books); edges dusty. Pages very lightly toned at margins. Otherwise a solid, clean VG+ copy in VG+ dust jacket (dust jacket has just a touch of shelf-wear, price-clipped). Item #67952
