Item #67961 A Treasury of Witchcraft. Harry E. WEDECK.

A Treasury of Witchcraft.

New York: Bonanza Books / Philosophical Library, ND [ 1960s ]. Reprint. Hardcover. Large octavo. 272pp. Quarter brown cloth with yellow papered boards, yellow title, etc. to spine. B&w illustrations, double-column printing. An extensive collection of material on witchdraft and other occult practices from a variety of times and cultures. The author, Harry E. Wedeck (1894-1996), was a linguist, classical scholar and writer whose literary forays into non-mainstream subjects included "Dictionary of Astrology," "A Dictionary of Aphrodisiacs," "A Treasury of Witchcraft" and "Triumph of Satan." His "A Treasury of Witchcraft" is effectively an encyclopaedia of witchcraft and the occult arts. A little light shelf wear, two small black felt-tip marks (on front pastedown and front free endpaper respectively) presumably obscuring an owner's name and perhaps price. Else a tight, clean, solid VG+ copy in G+ dust jacket (dust jacket rubbed overall, heaviest at folds and edges, small chips and tears to edge, not clipped. Now in removable mylar sleeve).
