The author starts the work with a survey of the history of Hermeticism in which he draws a distinction between the body of pure Hermetic knowledge, the secret tradition, and the popular outer tradition, arguing that the latter is often mistaken for the former. He goes on to explore the essence and nature of Hermetic philosophy and its practical expression. He examines in detail the science of Hermetic initiation, and the role that alchemy plays in the theory and practical dynamic of Hermeticism. A study of the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus is provided to demonstrate how natural law provides the blueprint for both the alchemical laboratory tradition and the inner alchemical journey of initiation. Rubaphilos Salfluere originally trained as a neo-Jungian therapist before taking up the study of alchemy under the last active New Zealand graduate of Frater Albertus Spagyricus. He has also been a member of a number of well-known esoteric fraternities. "As new" thus a tight, clean Fine copy with author's signature. Scarce in any condition. Item #67972
