Item #68342 Moonchild. Aleister CROWLEY, Kenneth Grant.

Moonchild.

London: Sphere Books, 1972. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Pocket sized paperback. 302pp. + iipp adverts. Illustrated covers. The first Sphere Books printing of "Moonchild" - which includes the first publication of a new introduction by Kenneth Grant. "Moonchild" was Crowley's famous second novel which tells the tale of a young woman caught up in a battle between two magicians, one of whom seeks to use her body as the vessel for the 'birth' in human form of a non-human entity: "the Moonchild" of the title. The character of "Cyril Grey" is a somewhat idealised self-portrait of Crowley, as is perhaps also that of "Simon Iff." Covers a lightly rubbed, corners and spine ends lightly chafed, spine a bit canted, page edges and outer margins lightly browned. Still a tight, unmarked better than VG copy - and quite unusual thus for a nearly 50 year old pulp paperback. Item #68342
