Item #68470 La Gauloise (Song of the Fighting French). Aleister CROWLEY, From the David Tibet collection.

La Gauloise (Song of the Fighting French).

London: Privately Printed, 1942. First Edition Thus. Leaflet. A single sheet folded once to make four 4.1/2 x 6 inch printed pages. The first is the title page, and the following three pages contain the text of a patriotic poem composed by the Beast. Text in FRENCH. This pamphlet originally appeared under the title "La Gauloise (Song of the Free French)" but for some reason - perhaps because he was officially 'warned off' from using the name of the French Government in Exile - he replaced the word 'Free' with 'Fighting' in the second printing. From the library of British artist, writer and musician DAVID TIBET (founder of the music group Current 93) with his pencilled OWNERSHIP SIGNATURE on the final leaf (rear cover). Light wear and a few spots of browning to covers, rubbing to edges. A clean better than VG copy. Item #68470
