Item #69133 Thelema ( letters in Greek ) [ The Holy Books of Thelema ]. Aleister CROWLEY.

Thelema ( letters in Greek ) [ The Holy Books of Thelema ].

(Breinigsville, PA [?]): NP, ND (2019 ). Facsimile Reprint [ POD ]. Softcover. Three volumes in one. Small format (6 x 4 inches). 62pp + (ii), 44pp + 64pp, (ii). White (faux parchment) softcovers with gilt lettering to upper cover. A recent single volume facsimile reprint of the full text of Crowley's collection of inspired writings "Thelema", commonly known collectively by Crowleyites as "the Holy Books." "Thelema" was first issued in three slender volumes (1909) although there were also five single-volume copies, printed on vellum, produced in 1910. This present volume obviously reflects the original single volume issue. "Thelema" comprises a series of six "inspired writings" all of which were assigned to one or other of the initiatory levels in the Outer College (lower Grades) of Crowley's magical Order the A.'. A.'. Thus Probationers were required to purchase and study the first volume, which contained "Liber LXI vel Causæ, The Preliminary Lection"; and "Liber LXV: Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente"; then, when the Probationer passed successfully to the grade of Neophyte - he or she was required to study the second volume, and so on. The individual books are: Liber LXI vel Causæ; Liber LXV: Liber Cordis Cincti Serpente; / Liber VII: Liber Liberi vel Lapidis Lazuli, / Liber CCXX: Liber L vel Legis,/ Liber XXVII: Liber Trigrammaton / Liber DCCCXIII vel Ararita Sub Figura DLXX. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well-known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. A little light wear, otherwise appears "as new". Thus a tight, near Fine copy. Item #69133
