Original blue cloth lettered in blind to upper board, titled in gilt on spine, illustrated title page. A series of 28 essays on the lesser known aspects of Christian festivals, celebrations and holy days that were originally planned to serve as the first chapter of Webster's "The Science of the Sacraments." These essays, which are divided into two parts: Part II: The Festivals & Part II: Some Days of Special Interest; are followed by a much shorter Part III: Addresses During the War, which comprises a group of four chapters in which Leadbeater reflects on the meaning of the First World War and speculates about the future. Light overall dulling and rubbing to boards with a few light marks to cloth. Spine faded with some dulling of titling & light bruising to spine ends and corners, light bumps and creasing to edges and corners, page edges a bit darkened and thumbed, endpages are unevenly browned, small bookseller's label front pastedown, and owner's label - a little bigger than a postage stamp - on the front free end paper. Pages lightly toned but unmarked and just a bit of light scattered foxing. Overall a tight, clean VG copy (no dust jacket). A rather scarce volume. Item #69339
