The first edition (the title was not issued in hardcover) of this work by William G. Gray (1913-1992), a respected British author, and founder of the magical order the Sangreal Sodality. Here Gray shows the reader that the Qabalah is not a religion, but a search for "God" and Self, using a system of rational, mathematically related concepts; emphasizing how the Qabalah actively influences the Western Mystery tradition. Very light rubbing and darkening to covers, and cover edges. Pages lightly toned - but unmarked and clean inside. Vertical crease down middle of spine, with corresponding slight separation in text block. It is a nearly-40-year old paperback, and will have to be treated with care if the pages are not to separate.
