[ The Book Of The Law ] Liber AL vel Legis, sub Figura CCXX as delivered by XCIII=418 to DCLXVI.

NP [ Los Angeles ]: Xeno Publications, 1967. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Octavo. (8.65 x 5.5 inches). 44pp. Black printed stapled yellow wrappers, front cover illustrated & titled in black with naked woman and snake design on front wrapper. The rear wrapper has a four paragraph blurb, signed Jerry Kay, within a decorative border. The scarce first printing of this unusual edition of "The Book of the Law," produced in 1967 by Jerry Kay, the film artist who had a brief association with the Solar Lodge, and is best known as the art director of the film 'Easy Rider.' The first page is the title page, with "LIBER / AL VEL / LEGIS / SUB FIGURA / CCXX / AS DELIVERED BY / XCIII = 418 / to DCLXVI " within the typical Egyptian-style border. The verso of the title page has "A.'. A.'./ Publication in Class A." above the A.'. A.'. seal and a complex imprimatur, followed by the publisher's details. Pages 3 - 9 reproduce the Introduction to the (corrected) 1942 US Edition, with some slight alterations to the footnotes, page 10 is blank, and pages 1- 30 reproduce the text of Liber CCXX, again from the 1942 edition. P. 31 has a printed Baphomet image, and pages 32 - 44 reproduce the "Old Comment" from "The Equinox Vol. I, No. VII." Covers a bit darkened as common, light chafing to edges and spine, paper lightly toned but clean & unmarked - but for a No. "2" in pen on first leaf. Overall a tight, unmarked VG+ copy. Scarce and one of the more popular printings of this important work. Item #70212
