Colour and b&w illustrations, top edges gilt. Large colour fold-out frontispiece in both volumes, b&w illustrations, fold-out charts. Appendices and index at rear of Vol. II only. The first and best edition of Budge's massive study of ancient Egyptian belief in the afterlife, and the worship of Osiris (there was a "book club" type edition published by the 'Medici Society' in the same year, which had single page plates rather than fold-outs, reduced colour, etc.). Spines a little dulled, some corners and spine ends a little bumped and chafed. Some tiny flecks of discoloration to the boads of Vol. I, edges of text blocks a little darkened, pages lightly toned and with the odd touch of very light scattered foxing throughout . Overall a tight, clean, VG+ example of this magnificent attractively bound set.
