Item #70875 The Amalantrah Working (Liber XCVII) January 14th - June 16th, 1918 e.v. Aleister CROWLEY, Roddie Minor.

The Amalantrah Working (Liber XCVII) January 14th - June 16th, 1918 e.v.

USA: Vondel Park, 2006. First Edition Thus. Softcover. Large octavo. Not paginated [ 120pp ]. Glossy printed card covers. Black and white reproduction of Crowley's portrait of Lam at start of book. Aleister Crowley's diary style record of "The Amalantrah Working" - the magical working that he undertook with Soror Achitha (Roddie Minor) from 14th January – 16th June 1918ev in New York when he made contact with the entity identified as Lam. Crowley intended to publish the work and gave it a "Liber" number ("Liber DCCXXIX") but it was never brought to print in his lifetime. As far as we can determine this edition, which was printed using Lulu, was released without authorization from the copyright holders, and was withdrawn shortly after publication. Thus copies are genuinely scarce. From the collection of Clive Harper, with his discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. Just a little chafing to the edges of the covers - else a tight, bright near Fine copy. Item #70875
