Nashville, TN: Troll Publishing, 1980. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Small octavo (5.25 x 4.5 inches) xviii + 46 pp. Silver and blue patterned boards with "The Book of the / Law" [in fancy script] lettered in silver gilt across the upper board, above a silver gilt A.: A.: seal. "LIBER AL" lettered vertically down the spine, with an upper case Greek letter Theta at its foot. Blue endpapers, and text printed in blue. The edition of "The Book of the Law" published by Marcelo Motta and his Society Ordo Templi Orientis. A very unusual Australian issue: this copy was evidently distributed by the "Parzival Foundation" in the Australian Capital Territory, and has their distribution label, with eye in pyramid design and their address, pasted over the publisher's details on the verso of the title page. Mottas annointed successor as head of the S.O.T.O., William Barden, was based in Australia, and the "Parzival Foundation" effectively took over S.O.T.O. activities following Motta's death, and acted as distributor for some of his publications. From the collection of Clive Harper with his discreet book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. Harper is well- known as the bibliographer of Austin Osman Spare, for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications. The boards are lightly chafed with rubbing at corners and spine ends, a few light bumps to edges, page edges a little darkened. Anti-theft label on final blank. Overall a tight, clean VG+ copy in near VG dust jacket. (White printed dust jacket is a bit darkened and has a few light creases, a little rubbed with a few small chips & tears at points and spine ends, not clipped). Item #70911
