Original blue cloth with gilt title, etc. to spine, blind rules to front boards. Half-tone photographic portrait of Waite tipped in facing title-page of Vol. I. A collection of poems drawn from five of Waite's previous books: "Israfel," "Lucasta," "A Soul's Comedy," "A Book of Mystery and Vision," and "Strange Houses of Sleep." According to Gilbert most of the poems had been heavily revised since their original publication. [Gilbert A28 - binding variant 2 with blue cloth boards and London lettered in gilt across bottom of spine]. Bump causing tiny tear and slight crease to cloth at base of spine of Vol. I (bump does not affect the text block at all), boards have typical modest shelf-wear with a hint of rubbing to the points.
