B&W and colour illustrations. This is an example of the SUBSCRIBER'S EDITION of the book which was only available direct from the publishers for a short period of time leading up to publication. It is limited to 200 hand-numbered copies, with a tipped in black and white photograph of Austin Osman Spare above a blind stamped set of his initials on the half-title page, and is SIGNED on the title page by the author Phil Baker. Book mark with AOS design loosely inserted as well as a label with a series of Spare's sigils which was presumably used to seal the packing of the book. Phil Baker's wide-ranging biography of artist and occultist Austin Osman Spare. An association copy - from the collection of Austin Osman Spare's bibliographer, Clive Harper, who is listed in the "Acknowledgements." With Clive's discrete book-label neatly tipped in at the rear. In addition to his Spare bibliography Harper is well-known for updating the Aleister Crowley bibliography in the 2011 Teitan Press collection of Gerald Yorke's writings, and as someone who has lent his expertise to numerous other publications.
