(viii) +184pp. Hand bound in series maroon-brown faux leather with gilt title to spine, maroon endpapers. 50 black & white reproductions of 50. Edition limited to 250 hand-numbered copies signed by Adam McLean, this being copy no. 205. A later issue of volume 22 of the Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks series. McLean says of this volume: "We issued Joscelyn Godwin's edition of Michael Maier's "Atalanta Fugiens" as number 22 in the Magnum Opus series. This focused on the musical aspect of the work and included Joscelyn's transcriptions of the music into modern notation and an analysis by musicologist Hildemarie Streich." This edition omits the dialogues which were the subject of a later volume in the same series. Later issue of the first edition: the paper on which the book is printed is a relatively bright white, it has a high number in the sequence of limitation, dark brown endpapers, and the binding is a maroon- brown with the title lettered down the spine reading "Atalanta Fugiens." What appears to be light bruising at the head and tail of the spine is almost certainly an artefact of the binding process. A bright, clean near Fine copy. Item #74065
