Liber AL Vel Legis: The Book of the Law. An Examination of Liber XXXI & Liber CCXX.
Berkeley CA: Conjoined Creation, 2013. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Large octavo. 270pp. Bound in dark blue linen with gold foil lettering on spine. Full color dust jacket. The hardcover edition of this title, limited to 80 hand-numbered copies (this being copy number 45), SIGNED by Marlene Cornelius on the title page. A new and expanded edition of this detailed....sometimes controversial and sometimes humorous study of "The Book of the Law" that was originally published as issue Number 8 of the Thelemic research journal "Red Flame." The dust jacket flap includes a thoughtful review of the work by the late Robert [ Bob ] Stein, author of the Teitan Press publication "The Mystery of the Letters and The Tree of Life" and other publications. Of this work, Marlene Cornelius says: "The original manuscript of Liber AL vel Legis is subjected to a minute analysis - every word, punctuation, emendation and 'chance shape of the letters' is examined in detail, resulting in the most accurate transliteration of the holograph possible. The creation of the various typescript versions of Liber AL, known as Liber CCXX, is also thoroughly examined, tracking the numerous changes in each of the published versions." Also included is R. Leo Gillis' contribution to the recent so-called Fill/Kill debate, the essay "Deem not of Change: Fill vs Kill in Liber CCXX." Merest hint of shelf-wear, otherwise "as-New". Thus a near-Fine copy in near Fine dust jacket. (Dust jacket now in a protective mylar cover). Out-of-print. Scarce. Item #74396
