Just to confuse matters the series started in January 1907 and the first number of the journal had the title "The Rosicrucian and Philosopher's Stone" but the title was changed to "The Rosicrucian Brotherhood Quarterly" ("TRBQ") with the second number (April 1907), which title it kept for the rest of the series. In total there were nine numbers issued, with the final being Volume III, No. 1, January 1909. "TRBQ" was an esoteric journal founded by Sylvester Clark Gould (1840-1909) in 1907, the same year that Gould, in company with George Winslow Plummer, founded the Societas Rosicruciana in America, and it seems likely that journal was allied to that endeavour.
The number of "TRBQ" offered here (Vol. II. No. 1. January, 1908) includes "The Hidden Secrets of the Egyptians. From the Seventh Book of Moses"; "From the Book of Maxims"; "The Anonymous Preface" from the 1650 edition of the "Divine Pymander"; a short piece "The Ancient Rosicrucians"; "Early Rosicrucians" by William Carpenter; "The Invisible Magical Mountain" translated by Kenneth R. H. Mackenzie, and various short essays, reviews, a list of Occult Books for Sale, etc. etc. Wrappers a little dusty, fingernail-sized chip from top corner of front wrapper, fingerprint-sized dark (coffee?) stain to bottom edge of front wrapper bleeding through the margins of the first six pages (not affecting text), a little chipping to fore-edge. Spine intact. A solid, G+ copy of a scarce journal. Item #74414
