London: The Equinox Ltd., 1976. Facsimile Edition. Hardcover. Quarto, x + 66pp. Black cloth with red title, etc. to spine and front board. B&W diagrams, ribbon page markers. The famous grimoire of talismanic magic, the Lemegeton of Solomon. Crowley first published his edition of the book at Boleskine in 1904, in an edition of only 200 copies using translations which had been prepared by S. L. MacGregor Mathers, his former mentor in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. This edition (a facsimile with minor corrections) was published by "The Equinox (Booksellers and Publishers) Ltd." - the sadly short-lived venture by Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin which briefly brought a frisson of excitement to the gentlefolk of Kensington, London, in the mid-1970s. Head and tail of spine and top corners of boards very lightly bruised. Sharp bumps to bottom corners of the boards, with corresponding small crease across the bottom corner of the text-block. Endpapers lightly shadowed by offset from dust jacket. Otherwise a tight, clean and fresh copy that would rate at least VG+ were it not for the bumping. In VG+ dust jacket. The dust jacket has one small chip from the rear fold, and a few tiny chips, a little chafing and a few short closed tears to the edges (closed at the back with acid-free tape). These chips etc are all barely visible as the jacket is black as are the boards - in fact we didn't know they were there until we took the jacket off and held it to the light to inspect it. Now protected by removable mylar cover.) Large book, additional shipping and insurance to that automatically quoted may apply, the exact amount dependent upon the destination. Item #74502
