Eric John Holmyard (1891–1959) was an English science teacher and historian of science and technology who served as the founding editor of the scientific review and history of science journal: "Endeavour". This volume is a reprint of his 1957 work on the history of alchemy in which Holmyard brings together various earlier accounts on the subject, particularly in relation to Islamic sciences. A bit worn overall, all edges chafed, lower corner lightly bumped, irregular vertical crease to upper cover, small abrasion to rear cover from the removal of an old price sticker, otherwise a tight internally clean VG copy.
